Maria Del Carmen Caballero Maria Del Carmen Caballero, 85, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, in Laredo, Texas, peacefully surrounded by her immediate family. She was born in Laredo and was a lifelong resident. She worked in sales and later received her certification in the nursing field. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mrs. Caballero is preceded in death by her husband, Enrique Caballero; daughter, Cynthia C. Garcia; parents, Mateo and Otila Flores; siblings Mateo Flores, Eva Ruiz, Monico Flores, and Mario Pedro Flores. Her memory will be cherished by her loving children, Elodia (Gabriel) Escamilla, Yvonne M. (Mario) Gonzalez, Cynthia + (Luis) Garcia, Enrique Gerardo (Sonia) Caballero and Roxane Marie(Ricardo+) Ramos; grandchildren, Monica Lee Escamilla, Jessica Marie Escamilla, Gabrielle Escamilla, Magdalena Escamilla, Yvette Marie (Edgar) Caracheo, Richard Matthew Ramos, Michelle Denise Ramos and Joseph Nathan Ramos; great- grandchildren, Abigail Naomi Escamilla, Edward Caracheo , Ethan Caracheo and Briana Caracheo. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at the Veterans Section in the City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Enrique Gerardo Caballero, Mario Gonzalez, Edgar Caracheo, Richard Matthew Ramos, Joseph Nathan Ramos and Daniel Villarreal.
