Zeferino Antonio Soulas Zeferino Antonio Soulas, 84, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. He served his country in World War II as a United States Army Medic. He was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed family cookouts.Mr. Soulas worked for the City of Laredo Bridge System for over 35 years. Upon retirement he went off to enjoy the country living in Aguilares, Texas. He will be dearly missed. Mr. Soulas is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Adela Soulas; siblings, Moises Soulas, Irma A. Soulas, Minerva Martinez and Maria del Pilar Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife, Elma Longoria Soulas; children, Zeferino (Maria) Soulas ,Jr, Wanda Soulas, Laura L. (Armando) Flores, Bernice M. (Jose Manuel) Martinez, Roxane A. (Michael) Riley, special nephews, Edmundo (Janie) Martinez and Jose Luis (Patricia) Martinez; grandchildren, Brenda Soulas, Kenneth Soulas, Michael Soulas, Jose Luis M. Cerda, Athena Martinez, Zelene A. Aragon, Amanda Flores, Kassandra M. Harmon, Jose Manuel Martinez Jr., Christopher E. Martinez and Zamuel Riley; 19 great grandchildren; siblings, Hector (Ana) Soulas, Guadalupe Wright, sister-in-law, Belia R. Soulas and brother-in-law, Samuel Martinez. Also surviving are numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Veterans Section of the City of Laredo Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 59 Honor Guard. The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at Doctors Hospital, his caregivers, Clara, Antonia, Sara, Lupita and Isidra for their continuous care. A special thanks to Dr. Ralph Nimchan and Dr. Luis Benavides who cared for him diligently.
