Ernestina Leal Henderson Gustafson Ernestina Leal Henderson Gustafson, 96, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Henderson and her husband, Natt Henderson established The Glass Kitchen Restaurant Chain in Laredo, Brownsville, Del Rio and Wichita Falls. She was the first in her family to receive her degree at Texas A & I Kingsville in 1943. She was well loved and appreciated by all her family and will be dearly missed by the ladies who cared for her for 22 years, Amelia Ortiz and Martha Gonzalez. She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Valentin Leal, Teresa Leal Ellis, Fermin Leal, Elena Leal Guerra, Jorge Leal, and Ercilia Leal Vela. Mrs. Henderson is survived by her nieces and nephews, George (Nora) Leal, Irene L. (Sidney) Spear, Edna (Mansford) Moon, Elia (Clyde) Biggs, and Armando (Alicia) Vela. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 8:15 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. Peter’s Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
