TSgt. Humberto Sanchez Mr. Humberto Sanchez, 81, entered into eternal rest at his home on Monday, February 17, 2014. Humberto was born in Mirando, TX on September 7, 1932. He graduated from Mirando High School. Humberto married the love of his life, Maria Guadalupe, on September 5, 1950. They were married for 63 years. A veteran of the Korean War, Humberto served in the United States Air Force where he worked as an air traffic controller. He was stationed in Florida, New Mexico, Alaska, and Japan. He retired after 20 years of service as a Technical Sergeant on May 1, 1971. Humberto worked as a Credit Manager at Joe Brand Stores for more than 30 years. He was a member of the San Vicente de Paul Society where he served as president. Humberto is preceded in death by his parents, Valentin and Manuela Sanchez; siblings, Rogelio (Natividad) Sanchez and Ramona Munoz; son, Jorge Manuel Sanchez; and granddaughter, Monica Sanchez. Humberto is survived by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Sanchez; siblings, Francisca (Jose+) Ramirez, and Jorge (Micaela+) Sanchez; children, Rosalinda (Federico) Arreazola, Humberto (Beverly) Sanchez Jr., Daniel (Noemi) Sanchez, and Norma (Margarito) Vasquez; brother-in-law, Pedro Munoz. He is also survived by his 26 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be David Arreazola, Jorge de Jesus Prado, Roberto Flores Jr., Ovid Rodriguez III, Daniel Sanchez Jr., and Victor Torres.
