Miss Araceli Martinez Miss Araceli Martinez, 96, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. Miss Martinez is preceded in death by her parents, Jose D. Martinez and Anita Hynes; brother, Jose H. (Jovita) Martinez. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Nora (Nieves) Gonzalez, Johnny (Betty +) Martinez, Ana (Joe) Herrera, Javier Martinez, Guillermo (Sofia) Martinez, Jose H. (Teresa) Martinez Jr.; 11 great nieces and nephews; 15 great-grand nieces and nephews; 4 great great-grand nieces and nephews and numerous relatives and friends. A rosary was recited on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Christ the King Catholic Church. A mass was celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment followed at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jose J. Herrera, Joey Herrera, Wayo Herrera, JC Herrera, Guillermo Martinez and Jose H. Martinez Jr. The family would like to thank her loving caretakers, Alicia Camarillo, Maria T. Sanchez and Mari Sanchez.
