Evangelina Martinez Mrs. Evangelina Martinez, 62, passed away on August 23, 2014 in New Orleans, La. Mrs. Martinez was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister who will be missed dearly by all of her family. Mrs. Evangelina Martinez is preceded in death by her father, Roman de la Rosa; and sisters, Josefina Rodriguez and Claudia Veronica de la Rosa. She is survived by her husband, Reymundo S. Martinez; her children, Veronica Martinez (Chris) Jacobo and Reymundo S. Martinez Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Christopher Jacobo II and Viridiana Jacobo. She is also survived by her mother, Maria Guadalupe de la Rosa; siblings, Herlinda (Juan) Tapia, Ma. Guadalupe de la Rosa, Enrique (Dora) de la Rosa, Alberto (Diana) de la Rosa, Roman (Leticia) de la Rosa, Marylu (Johnny) Ramirez, Vicky de la Rosa, and Jose de la Rosa; and brother-in-law, Ricardo Rodriguez as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A vigil will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Holy Family Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the City of Laredo Cemetery.
