Laura O. Lugo

August 27, 1945 — September 13, 2014

Laura Olivia Lugo Ms. Laura Olivia, born in Laredo, Texas on August 27, 1945, was received by our merciful Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in San Antonio Texas, after a long battle with illness. She was surrounded by family and love. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Raul S. Lugo and Olivia G. Lugo, Laura’s namesake. She is survived by her loving brothers, Raul S. (Bitsy) Lugo, Jr. and Mario (Alma) Lugo, both of Houston, Texas; along with her devoted sister, Elma L. (Arturo) Ortiz of San Antonio, Texas. Although Laura had no biological children of her own, she was an outstanding and dedicated aunt to all of her precious nieces and nephews. She made frequent calls, and never forgot a single birthday. She treated them as her own. Her family was the center of her world, and she took extra care to keep everyone close and connected. She enjoyed music and singing, and was the Choir Director at her church. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her, but will never be forgotten. A visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, in the Hillside Funeral Home, 310 Hillside Road, Laredo, Texas 78041 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held immediately afterwards from the Hillside Funeral Home chapel at 11:30 a.m. for a noon Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 555 E. Del Mar Blvd. Interment will follow in the family plot at the Catholic Calvary Cemetery. If you would like to sign the guestbook or send private condolences, you may do so at www.hillsidefuneral.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home, 310 Hillside Road.
