Gonzalo Contreras Gonzalo Contreras, 90, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Contreras worked for 45 years in the meat market department with Tamez Groceries. He will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Maria de Jesus Contreras; his loving wife, Estela Contreras; brothers, Rafael Contreras Jr. and Conrado Contreras; sister, Maria de Jesus Hinojosa. Mr. Contreras is survived by his children, Estela (Florencio) Canizales, Sylvia Gonzalez, Gonzalo (Veronica) Contreras Jr., Mary (Armando) Alva; grandchildren, Susana Moreno, Arturo Canizales, Sandra Reyes, Debbie Grusenmayer, Erica Contreras, Jessica Cisneros, Gilbert Gonzalez, Jr., Christina Gonzalez; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, Ruperto Contreras; sisters, Maria Luisa Perez and Maria Nela Diaz and numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
