Jesus Hector Valenciano Mr. Jesus Hector Valenciano, 75, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Valenciano graduated from Martin High School. He was well-known in the community of being in the Valenciano Brothers Orchestra. Mr. Valenciano served in the U.S. Army for four years. He was the first truant officer for the United Independent School District; he retired after 30 years. Mr. Valenciano had been battling cancer for the past 7 years; he will always be remembered as the man who loved music. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Consuelo Valenciano; brother, Eduardo Valenciano, sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Valenciano and Beatrice Beard; brothers-in-law, Clem Nava and Morris Nava. Mr. Valenciano is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mrs. Agnes Nava Valenciano of Edna, Tx; children, Rene Joel (Diana) Valenciano and Sylvia V. (Carlos) Narvaez; brothers, Juan Antonio (Lucy) Valenciano, Raymundo Valenciano, and Javier Valenciano; sisters-in-law, Seferina Constante, Velma Murray, Elsa Valenciano, Olivia Wilmot, Wilana Nava, and Mac (Basilio) Jimenez. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rene Joel (Crystal) Valenciano Jr., Christian Valenciano, Ashley Nicole Valenciano, Carlos Alexander (Lizette) Narvaez, and Samantha Victoria Narvaez; and great-grandchildren, Roman Valenciano, Ryan Valenciano, and Roberto Paredes. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rene Joel Valenciano, Rene Joel Valenciano Jr., Carlos Narvaez, Carlos Alexander Narvaez, Christian Valenciano, Carlos Ramirez, Arnulfo Cisneros and Alberto Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Rafael Cisneros, Miguel Cisneros, Juan Antonio Valenciano, Javier Valenciano, and Raymundo Valenciano. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 59 Honor Guard. The family would like to thank Altus Hospice Care, especially Teresa Martinez and Dr. Arturo Garza-Gongora and staff.
