Elsa C. Palacios Elsa Palacios, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and caring friend to all, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015, after a prolonged battle with cancer.Our loss is heaven’s gain, but she will finally be reunited with her beloved mother, Irene and sister, Libby. Elsa was born in Laredo and was a graduate of Martin High School. She spent some time in Glendale, AZ and Del Rio, TX accompanying her husband, Roberto, while he was in the U.S. Air Force. She then settled back in Laredo where she worked over 30 years with L.I.S.D. and raised her 3 children. Elsa was a kind, loving, dedicated woman who opened her heart and home to everyone. She loved to laugh, dance, talk and could easily break out into song on a whim. She loved spending time with family and nothing gave her more joy and purpose than raising her 3 children whom she gave her all to and that joy and purpose continued on with her grandchildren. She is survived by her dedicated husband, Roberto Palacios, Sr.; her 3 children, Roberto (Wanda) Palacios, Jr., Gabriela (Miguel) Idrogo, Claudia (Roberto) Espinoza; grandchildren, Biviana, Iriana and Z; her father, Jose Gutierrez, Jr.; brother, Jose Gutierrez, III and numerous family and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Espinoza, Ricardo Palacios, Jr., Mike Idrogo, Robert Cruz, Armando Ramos, Jr., Danny Davila, Tony Gonzalez and Peter Palacios.
