Maria Luisa Cavazos On Wednesday, August 12, 2015, our beloved mother, Maria Luisa Gomez-Cavazos, went to be with the Lord. She was born June 21, 1925 in Laredo, Texas. Maria Luisa was a loving, caring and generous person who had a great zest for life. Mr. and Mrs. Cavazos were the proud owners of Cavazos Candy and Produce Inc. for many years. She loved gardening, music and in her younger years enjoyed going with her husband to their ranches, most importantly to her was her love and devotion to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her strong faith in the Lord allowed her to have a positive outlook in life. She was greatly loved by all and will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ruben Cavazos, Sr. and her eldest son, Ruben Cavazos, Jr. Maria Luisa is survived by her sister, Consuelo Perez; children, Ricardo (Alma) Cavazos, Javier Cavazos, Laura (Julio) Zepeda, Anna Maria (Geraud) Gonzales, Rosa Elia (Mark) Rosteet, Elsa Cavazos, Lilia (Todd) Keller, Mary Lou (Xavier) Gonzalez; daughter-in-law, Norma Cavazos; grandchildren, Gabie Garcia, Ricky Cavazos, Jr., Javier Cavazos, Jr., Jessica Martinez, Marylou De la Garza, Monica Villarreal, Victoria Cavazos, Lesley Salas, Gustavo Cavazos, Jasmine Goemans, Geraud Justin Gonzales, Andrea Keller, William T. Keller, Jr., Xavier Gonzalez, Jr., Ashley Gonzalez, Diego Gonzalez and numerous great grandchildren, relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Christ the King Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
