Cecilia Benita Cantu

Cecilia Benita Cantu passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Laredo, Texas. Cecilia was a professional educator that devoted her entire life teaching our youth in Laredo. She retired but went back to teach homebound students until the last days of her life. She was a true professional in one of the most important professions in our country. Cecilia will join countless other professionals that dedicated their entire lives in preparing our youth for the challenges facing them in our community and the world. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ms. Cantu is preceded in death by her parents, Adolfo (Maria R.) Cantu. She is survived by her brothers Adolfo (Rosario) Cantu Jr., Cesar (Cynthia) Cantu , Xavier (Yolanda) Cantu; sisters, Marina L. Cantu, Corina (Roy) Kilgore, Rosa (Ignacio) Martinez. Ms. Cantu is also survived by nephews and nieces; Robert, Roxanne, Rick, Michelle Marie, Marcus Anthony, Wendy, Matthew, Yvette, John Joseph, Annette, Karina, Xavier Adolfo, Mikael, and Andres. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday September 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm. A mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. All attending are asked to please meet at the church.
