Derly M. Gutierrez Sr.

Derly M. Gutierrez, Sr., 83, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 in Riverview, N.H. Care Center in Boerne, TX. Mr. Gutierrez was retired from the U.S. Navy- CW0-4/W4. He received several combat medals from Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Gutierrez was an electronics engineer and worked civil service in Corpus Christi, TX, at the Naval Air Station. He was also a member of St. Victors C.C. in Lake Hills, TX. Mr. Gutierrez is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Beatrice Gutierrez; daughter, Cynthia Gutierrez. He is survived by his wife Joyce Mae Gutierrez; sons, Derly (Lucy) Gutierrez Jr., David Gutierrez, and Daniel Gutierrez. Mr. Gutierrez is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A rosary will be recited on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the City of Laredo Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Navy Honor Guard and American Legion Post 59.
