Olga de la Garza Olga de la Garza began her journey to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, May 13, 2016. Born in Laredo, TX, she attended Martin High School, Laredo Community College and worked as a Legal Para Professional all her life. She resided in Laredo and as a devout catholic, attended St. Augustine Church. Olga is preceded in death by her parents, Adolfo Carlos de la Garza and Maria de Jesus de la Garza; sisters, Maria Lucila de la Garza, Estela de la Garza, Elena de la Garza, Leonor Frierson; brother in law, Edward B. Frierson. She is survived by her brother, Adolfo Carlos (Edna) de la Garza, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Dr. Leonor (David) Stroud, Carla (Kevin) Schmissraut, Edward B. (Debbie) Frierson, A.C. de la Garza, III, Jose Luis (Alejandra) de la Garza, Jaime A. (Marivel) de la Garza and Raul R. (Christina) de la Garza. Also surviving are grand nephews, grand nieces, one great grandnephew and numerous relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 11:15 a.m. Procession will depart at 12:15 p.m. to St. Augustine Cathedral where a mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Msgr. James Harris officiating. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be A.C. de la Garza, III, Jose Luis de la Garza, Jaime A. de la Garza, Raul R. de la Garza, Edward B. Frierson and David Stroud. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grand nieces, nephews and great grandnephew, David Stroud, Jennifer Holler, James Frierson, Olivia Frierson, Isabella A. de la Garza, Erick J. de la Garza, Ana N. de la Garza, Christian R. de la Garza and Jackson Holler. The family wishes to thank Dr. Luis Benavides, the nursing staff at Retama West, Hospice Nurses from Nurses on Wheels and her two faithful and loyal caretaker sisters, Martha Solis and Lourdes Solis. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in her name to Casa Misericordia C/O Sister Rosemary Welsh P.O. Box 430175, Laredo, Texas, 78043. Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home, 310 Hillside Road.
