David Vasquez David Vasquez, 87, well known in Laredo as the “King of the Fried Shrimp" passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Vasquez was the proud owner of the Quick Bite Family Restaurant for 33 years, where he and his wife Maria forged a bright future for their loving children. David loved serving his customers whom he called friends. Mr. Vasquez is preceded in death by his wife, Maria A. Vasquez; sons, David Jr. and Raul Vasquez; parents, Teodoro and Vicenta Vasquez; brothers, Felix Vasquez and Vicente Vasquez; sister, Guadalupe Arispe. He is survived by his daughter, Raquel V. (Daniel) Alcocer; sister, Dolores Soliz, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday August 1, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 9:30 am from Hillside Funeral Home to St. Patrick Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.
