On October 11, 2016 our beloved sister, daughter, aunt, and friend Irma Garcia was welcomed by our heavenly father into his kingdom of eternal peace. She will forever be remembered by her family, friends, and all those she touched with her outgoing personality, go-getter attitude, selfless heart, and contagious laughter. Irma Otilia Garcia was born on October 26, 1951, in the loving arms of Adolfo and Irma Garcia in Laredo, Texas. She was the second child of six children; Kinney (Yolanda), George (Ariane), IIeana (Sergio), Hector (Amanda) and Cordelia Garcia. She graduated from Ursuline Academy and later acquired her degree. She achieved and accomplished many successes throughout her life and was extremely dedicated to her career in the 49th District Court. Ms. Garcia is preceded in death by her mother, Irma O. Garcia; siblings, Dr. George Garcia and Cordelia Garcia. She is survived by father Adolfo Garcia; siblings, Adolfo “Kinney” (Yolanda) Garcia, Ileana Garcia (Sergio) Maldonado, and Hector J. (Amanda A.) Garcia; sister-in-law, Ariane Garcia. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kenny, Adrian, David, Vanessa, Ariane, Chanelle, Meriel, Nicole, Cordelia, and Joshua, whom were all like her own children. Although Irma Garcia is no longer with us on this Earth, there is no doubt that she will forever be remembered as one of the most genuine, caring, most driven women of all time. Her love for politics and enthusiasm for social justice will always be remembered. Her sound advice, warm conversations, and helping hand will never be forgotten. Her name will be forever etched in our hearts and her memory will remain as one -of-a kind woman that can never be replaced. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Dennis Cantu and Dr. Carlos Cigarroa. A rosary will be recited on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel.
