May Elizabeth Deignan Ornelas, 86, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Laredo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fernando Hynes Ornelas, Sr.; son, Fernando Hynes Ornelas, Jr.; father, John Francis Deignan; mother, Maria Sanchez; sisters, Yolanda Esqueda and Manuela Rodriguez; brother in law, Alfonso H. Ornelas; sisters in law, Elena H. Ornelas and Sylvia V. Ornelas. Mrs. Ornelas is survived by her children, Arturo J. (Cordelia) Dominguez, Linda (Joseph) Gangi, Maria Teresa “Terry” Ornelas, Patricia Wade; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Joan(Gene+) Taylor; sister in law, Lucia H. Ornelas and numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
