Juan Meza

Our Lord called Juan Meza, a loving husband, father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather, to heaven on Sunday, April 30, 2017 in Laredo, Texas. Juan Meza was a Eucharistic Minister, led rosaries at funeral services, and along with his wife, Antonia Meza, led Pre- Cana Sessions. He is preceded in death by his parents Ramon Meza and Lilia Delgado; sister, Isabel Avila; brothers, Mauro Meza, and Vicente Meza. Mr. Meza is survived by his loving wife Antonia Meza of 68 years and nine children, Rosalinda (William) Pratt, Estela Meza, Teresa Meza, Juan (Myrna) Meza, Gloria (Mike) Memmer, Antonia Sajedi, Ana (Amador) Peña, Delia López (Mario Botello), Guillermo (Leticia) Meza; grandchildren, Dawn Pratt, Joy (Daniel) Speaker, Juan (Stephanie) Meza, Cristina (Mike) Kim, Jessica (Steven) San Pedro, Laurie Peña, Esteban Peña, Nicholas (Monica) López, Monica E. López, Jonathan Memmer, and Michael Memmer. Mr. Meza is also survived by his 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Paulina Gutierrez, Lilia Verastegui, and Ramon (Juanita) Meza, other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11:15 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Francisco León at 11:45 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Juan Meza’s family would like to thank Dr. Oscar Gutierrez-Vizuet for the medical care he provided to our father. We would like to extend our gratitude to the nurses at the ICU at Laredo Medical Center for the caring and sensitivity to our father’s needs.
