Mrs. Balbina Meza Compean, age 91, entered into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on August 23, 2023.

Balbina was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas to Juan Meza and Manuela Sanchez de Meza. Balbina married Jose T. Compean of San Luis Potosi, Mexico on February 21, 1949 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Juan Meza and Manuela Sanchez de Meza, her husband: Jose T. Compean, son: Jose Jesus Compean, sister: Manuela Bautista, brother: Juan Jose Meza, and son-in-law: Victor Molano.

Left behind to cherish her beautiful memory are her children:  Maria Teresa Compean, Franklin Compean-Warner (Randolph), San Juanita Castillo (Gilberto), Efrain Compean (Virginia), Dora Compean, Cynthia Zamilpa (Rogelio), and Balbina A. Gamez (Luis), numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She dedicated her life as a wonderful housewife and a loving Mother, but her role as "Abuela" was what she loved and thrived on as she helped raise many of her grandchildren.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 5 pm to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations, where a rosary will be offered 7 pm with Deacon Enrique Peñuñuri in the chapel.

Visitation will continue Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 7 am to 9 am at the funeral chapel. The funeral procession will depart at 9 am to San Luis Rey Catholic Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 am.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Efrain Compean, Franklin Compean, Carlos Compean, Gilberto Castillo, Gilberto Castillo Jr., Manuel De Luna Jr., Luis Gamez Jr., and Rogelio Zamilpa.
