Bertha I. Flores

Bertha I. Flores, 71, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, in Laredo, Texas. Those who had the privilege of knowing Bertha Flores know that she lived her life serving others. She will be remembered for her generosity and always putting the needs of others before her own. She was happiest knowing that she could make others happy through a simple act of kindness. She was also a great story teller and was able to bring a smile upon a person’s face with the latest joke, funny story, or witty phrases and words she liked to use that we grew so fond to hearing. More than anything, she lived her life loving her husband, her family, and the people she came into contact with. There was no limit to her kindness, forgiveness, selflessness, and amazing love. She is preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Gregoria Cardenas; parents-in-law, Jose H. and Tomasita Flores, and her brother-in-law Jose Mario Flores.She is survived by her husband Luciano “Butch” Flores; children Jessica D. Flores, and Luciano Butch (Letycia) Flores; grandchildren, Sophia and Isabella Flores; siblings, Nelda (Conrado) Martinez, Andres (Sylvia) Cardenas, Simon Cardenas Jr., Blanca Cardenas, Miguel (Irma) Cardenas, and Leticia Cardenas; sisters-in-law, Rosa (Esteban +) Flores, Irene (Daniel +) Lucio, and Lucy Flores (Carlos Quintanilla). She is also survived by many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home chapel.  A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019, at 8:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church.
