Celestina Rosas

Mrs. Celestina Rosas, 89, entered the kingdom of Heaven on September 8, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas.

Celestina (Celia) Rosas was born April 6th, 1934 in Cd. Anahuac, N.L., Mexico. She was the fifth child of Emilio and Marcelina Rodriguez. She married the love of her life, Alfredo Rosas, on December 8th, 1967 in Nuevo Laredo, MX. Alfredo and Celestina had 5 children and lived in Laredo Texas for many years. After the untimely passing of her husband in 1982, Celestina, with the help of her family raised her 5 children eventually moving to San Antonio, TX in 1991. In San Antonio, Celestina signed up for citizenship classes and became a US citizen, an achievement she was very proud of. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters: Teodora Saldana, Ramona Rodriguez and Refugia Rodriguez; her husband, Alfredo Rosas-Barrientos, and her son Jose Alberto Rosas.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her sisters: Maria de Jesus and Petra Rodriguez; her children, Alfredo Rosas Jr., Maria (Caleb) Roth, Alicia (Jennifer) Kelly, Arturo Rosas, and her beloved grandchildren Caleb Roth, Sophie Roth, and Sildelia Fernandez. Celestina was blessed to have many nieces, nephews and friends who will carry their memories of her in their hearts. 

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 10 am to 12 noon at Hillside Funerals and Cremations. A Liturgy of Word & Rosary will commence at 12 noon.

The procession will form immediately following the service and proceed to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery-Mausoleum Garden, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband.
