Daniel Gonzalez

July 30, 1963 — February 24, 2024

San Antonio, Texas

Daniel “Gonzo” Gonzalez passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 60, in San Antonio, TX surrounded by family.

Daniel enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 18 and served on active duty for 4 years. In the Airforce is where Daniel received his nickname of “Gonzo”, which he embraced often referring to himself as such. Daniel was stationed in Norton AFB California, where he had an amazing time and made many friends.

After his time in the military Daniel became a truck driver, which he loved. Daniel was an adventurous and spontaneous person always looking forward to the open road. Daniel would go on to drive for over 29 years.

Daniel eventually met his first wife Maria Gonzalez and had three children, Daniel Jr, Justin and Sasha. Daniel often told stories about his time in the military and the impact his service had on him. Daniel instilled in his children a sense of service and encouraged them to join the military. Daniel’s two boys went on to join the military, which Daniel was very proud of.

Daniel was a selfless man always willing to give the shirt off his back. Daniel is known for being a kind, loving and compassionate person. He was always the life of the party, making everyone laugh and dancing. Daniel enjoyed watching sci-fi movies at full blast and cracking jokes. Daniel was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
