David De La Garza

David De La Garza, 74, was called by the Lord and entered into eternal rest on July 29, 2026.

A proud graduate of J.W. Nixon High School's Class of 1971, David was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing. He also had a great appreciation for antiques and classic cars. His interests brought him much happiness throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jennifer Marie De La Garza; his parents, Oliva and Ambrosio De La Garza Sr.; and his siblings, Ambrosio De La Garza Jr. and Adriana Gutierrez.

He is survived by his children, David De La Garza (Elise) and Olivia De La Garza; his sister, Veronica Espinoza (Jerry); his sister-in-law, Olivia De La Garza; his brother-in-law, Abiel Gutierrez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Espinoza, Abiel Gutierrez, Alfonso De La Garza, Samuel De La Garza, Abiel Gutierrez Jr., and David De La Garza Jr.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, 310 W. Hillside Road, Laredo, Texas 78041. A Liturgy and Holy Rosary will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.

The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. to the Laredo City Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held at 12:45 p.m. David will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife.
