Diana Lacey

November 28, 1946 — August 3, 2019

Our family sadly says goodbye to beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Diana Lacey, 72, who passed away peacefully in her home, Saturday, August 3, 2019. Born to Candelario Flores and Maria Irene de la Garza November 28, 1946, Diana graduated from Martin High School and began making an immediate mark on a career that landed her positions as a leader and manager wherever she went; this included being the right-hand assistant of esteemed Laredo attorney Ed Mann to additional ventures at Hilton, Texas Employment Commission and Vilore Imports.  Whatever she set her sights on she was quick to absorb and master.  Her marriage to husband, Doug Lacey, proved a powerful alliance and together the pair launched a number of successful businesses, most notably Aero Center at Laredo International Airport.   The magic touch of this talented woman didn’t end with her business acumen.  Her flair for design and love of cuisine made her beautifully appointed home a thing of architectural beauty and her dinner parties, special occasions that never failed to wow.  She also served as a member of the Society of Martha Washington. Diana was inspired by love, laughter, and dance. She and her husband Doug were a fun couple, whose love was anchored by a unique sense of humor that was always wildly entertaining, to their children especially. Her love of music was unmatched. Any melody could keep her on her feet for hours; she could easily spend the entire day singing and dancing to The Supremes and often did.  Diana is survived by husband, Doug Lacey, daughter, Bellini Lacey, and two sons, Arturo and Derek Lacey; granddaughter, Lola Rice. She is survived as well by siblings, Eddie Flores, Maria Irene Flores, Irma Hunter, Rolando Flores, Cynthia Cano and a great many relatives and close friends. The children wish to thank their father for the doting and loving care he provided Diana, especially the last two years of a life that saw her put up a courageous fight through a prolonged illness.   Her final request was for a private funeral, family only.  We wish this wonderful wife and mother Godspeed. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Lewy Body Dementia Association at  https://www.lbda.org/ or to charity of your choice.  If you would like to sign the guestbook or send private condolences, you may do so at www.hillsidefuneral.com Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home, 310 Hillside Rd.
