Elia Rosa Zarate

Elia Rosa Zarate, 90, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 10, 2022, in Laredo, Texas.

Mrs. Zarate is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Carolina Treviño; daughter, Elia Rosa Alvarado; siblings, Olga Treviño de Torres, and Jesus Treviño.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra Z. (Gerardo) Gonzalez, Yvonne (Adalberto) Cardenas, Mirella (Jose Eduardo) Sanchez, and Mirna Laura (Juan) Arriaga; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Rogelio (Martha) Treviño, Carola Treviño viuda de Rodriguez; son-in-law, Roberto Alvarado, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. Patrick Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Joe Alvarado, Ricardo Gonzalez, Gerardo Gonzalez Jr., Adalberto Cardenas Jr., Jorge Sanchez, and Carlos Sanchez.

Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
