Elva Martinez

Elva Martinez, 92, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 03, 2021, in Laredo, Texas.

To know Elva Martinez was to love her. Elva worked at the linen department at Mercy Hospital for 25 years, where she filled the halls with joy and happiness while delivering her linen. Her passion in life was her family, traveling, and MAQUINITAS. If you are an acquaintance of her off springs, you owe her a thank you for teaching them that the most important thing in life is to be compassionate and giving. Her message to all of us is: “PAY IT FORWARD”.

Mrs. Martinez is preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Amanda Peña; children, Eduardo Del Corral, Jose G. Garcia, and Amanda Mills; grandson, George Bernardini; and siblings, Gilma Barrera, Nolida Treviño, Nilda Rosa, and Rogelio Peña.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Luz M. (Raul) Cano, Marta E. Walker, Rosario (Victor) Orduña, and Sylvia (Edward) Vigil. She is also survived by her sister, Lourdes Peña; daughter-in-laws, Melva Del Corral, and Quyen Garcia, 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A rosary will be recited on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hillside Funeral Home chapel. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow to the family plot at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
