Eva Teresa Martinez Postell

October 15, 1929 — April 4, 2021

Our beloved mother, Eva Teresa Martinez Postell, 91, entered into God’s paradise in Heaven on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, peacefully with her family by her side. She was listening to the Divine Mercy Chaplet in song until she took her last breath.

Postell; parents, Luis and Ofelia Martinez; son-in-law, Tanis Garza, Jr., and her first grandson, Tanis Anthony Garza; sister, Maria Luisa Martin; brothers, Luisito Martinez, Luis F. Martinez, Jr., Julio Martinez, and Adolfo R. Martinez.

Eva was a graduate of Ursuline Academy Class of ’48 and then Texas Women’s University where she received her Bachelors of Science in Education. Eva devoted 30 years to education where she taught at Tomas Sanchez then moved to Alma Pierce School until her retirement. She was an avid educator who instilled education in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She dedicated her life to her family and then her grandchildren. She loved babysitting her grandchildren, attending Teacher Retirement Meetings, Canasta, Bonko, and going to coffee with her friends. Mom enjoyed keeping up with current events.

Eva battled Alzheimer’s for the past 10 years until she took her last breath.

Eva Teresa is survived by her daughters, Carol Jean Postell (Garza) and son Jason Patrick (Karina) Garza; Cathy Ann Postell and her daughters, Megan Teresa K. Ochoa (Andrew), Loren Alexis K.
