Fidel Gonzalez

Fidel Gonzalez, 66, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, in Laredo, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Graciela C. Gonzalez; paternal grandparents, Tiburcio Gonzalez & Angelita Leal; maternal grandparents, Armando Bustamante & Josefa De Los Santos Bustamante.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Fidel Gonzalez Jr., parents, Homero Tiburcio & Imelda Nelda Gonzalez; siblings, Julio (Sonia) Gonzalez, Maricela (Manuel) Peña, Homero (Denise) Gonzalez, Maribel Santos, Joel O. Gonzalez, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Immediate family will be departing from Hillside Funerals & Cremations, located on 310 W. Hillside Rd. at 8:30am on Friday, July 24, 2026 to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Holy Mass at 9am. Everyone is encouraged to meet at the church. 

Services will end at the church and cremation will be held at a later date.

Mr. Gonzalez dedicated over 30 years of service to the Webb County Sheriff's Office in Laredo, Texas. He will be deeply missed!

Pallbearers will be: Fidel Gonzalez Jr., Rick Guerra Jr., Vidal Hinojosa, Armando Bustamante, Jerry Perez, Coach Jimmy Glenn, Ramiro Alarcon, and Manuel Peña.
