Fidel L. Garza

February 27, 1940 — January 23, 2022

Fidel L. Garza, 81, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones.

Fidel enlisted in the army for eight years, earned his bachelor degree in social work. He worked for many years helping and guiding immigrants to find work and many times helping them with his own money to help them with their necessities. Later he was a general manager of an air taxi company.

Fidel was loved by everyone, he was very respectful, funny, kind, and humble. His generosity had no limits, he was a real gentleman. He has now entered the Kingdom of God and all of its Glory.

Mr. Garza is preceded in death by his parents, Cristelo Garza and Evangenlina L. Garza; siblings, Graziela G. (Hugo) Avendaño, Reginaldo G. (Arabela) Garza and Eva G. (Jiggs) Grigsby; sisters-in-law, Maria Josefa P. Arocha and Carmelita Pompa Delfin.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Regina; sons, Fidel C. (Katie) and Christian; grandsons, Fidel Joaquin, and Roman Frederick; brother-in-law, Marco Antonio (Lidia) Pompa Delfin; sister-in-law, Graziela Pompa Vda. De Infante; concuño, Frank Arocha. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Due to the pandemic, a private mass was held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home, 310 Hillside Rd., Laredo, Texas 78041
