Mr. Gilberto Yguerabide, 84, entered into eternal rest on May 30, 2024 in Laredo, Texas. He was born in Laredo, Texas on September 6, 1939. He grew up in Laredo, Texas and then continued to serve his country in the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florita Elena Yguerabide, parents: Lucio & Maria Magdalena Yguerabide, sisters: Enedelia Almedia, Ana Maria Gonzalez, Veronica Garza, brother: Gerardo Yguerabide.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Flora Elena (Oscar) Gamez, granddaughter, Perla Elena (Tony Michael Marin) Gamez, grandson, Oscar (Amanda) Gamez Jr, great-grandchildren: Amira Elena Marin, Ixchel Elena Marin, & Nicolas Dante Gamez, brothers: Lucio (Lee) Ygueravide, Hector Yguerabide, Humberto (Veronica) Yguerabide, sisters: Teresa Yguerabide Lopez, Cecilia Yguerabide (Rene), Maria Magdalena (Jesus) Soto, Gloria Bentley Yguerabide (Juan), and Irma (Rafa) Ramirez, as well as a great number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of his Life and Service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 9 o'clock in the morning until 1 o'clock in the afternoon at Hillside Funerals & Cremations.
A Liturgy of the Word will commence at 12 noon.
Military Honors will follow in the parking lot of the funeral home, provided by the US Army Casualty Detail out of Fort Sam Houston, and the Laredo Veteran's Honor Guard.
A private cremation and interment will be held at a later date.
