Graciela “Chela” Aleman, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in Laredo, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jesus Aguilar and Maria de la Luz Galvan; and her siblings, Luis Aguilar, Jose Maria Aguilar, Jesus Aguilar, Francisco Aguilar, and Amede Aguilar.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory is her devoted husband, Jose Blas Aleman; her loving children, Norma Alicia (Carlos) McGuire, Graciela (Anselmo Jr.) Sanchez, Sylvia (Beto) Sanchez, Sandra Luz (Lorenzo) Salazar, Benita (+Reynol) Cortez, Griselda (Bernardo) Bondoc, and Maria Clarissa (Jaime) Mendez. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Homero Aguilar, Israel Aguilar, Gloria Ortegon, Guadalupe “Lupita” Serna, and Olga Carrasco. Chela’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Irasemy Ollervides, Diana L. Escobedo, Carlos Jr., Markus McGuire; José, Michelle, Joshua Madrigal, Humberto III, Ashly and Cindy Sanchez; Lorenzo, Valerie Salazar, Reynol III, Robert and Randey Cortez; Jesse, Jonell, Joelyn, Josie, Jody, Brielle, Bernadette and Bailey Bondoc; Hailey, Krista, Zianna, and Melina Mendez, 23 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Chela will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her strength, and the deep love she shared with her family. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.
A private cremation will be held at a later date.
The family invites all who knew and loved Chela to join them in honoring her life and legacy.
