Graciela G. Sanchez

A grand person was called to God’s Kingdom on Monday, January 22, 2018, Graciela Gobea Sanchez, a great mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. Graciela outlived her husband, Jesus Sanchez for 26 years, a marriage made in heaven. She was actively involved with our community and worked with many children in the Laredo Independent School District as a para- professional. Her favorite pastimes were going to the Tecolotes baseball games with her friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus M. Sanchez; parents, Alfredo and Alberta Gobea. She is survived by her children, Venola (Vince) De Bonis, Veronica (Ed) Gonzalez and Jesus (Alicia) Sanchez; grandchildren, Monica (Josue) Reyes, Zelina (Joey) Ferguson, Joanna and Laura Espinoza, Jessica (Rob) Castillo, Jesus Alfredo (Nicole) Sanchez, Christopher (Jenna) De Bonis and Victor De Bonis; great grandchildren, Armani Reyes, Eddie Reyes, Zoey Ferguson, Bruce Ferguson, Shelby Ferguson, Ava Ferguson, Olivia and Luke Castillo, and Anibal Sanchez. Graciela is also survived by her good friend, Julie Hernandez; caregivers, Oralia Velasquez and Mari Garcia, as well as numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the City of Laredo Cemetery.
