********************************************************

Homero Valdez Jr., 52, of Laredo, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, after a 4-year battle with cancer. Homero Jr was born to Homero Valdez and Angelina Valdez on August 7, 1973. After graduating from high school, he pursued his passion for mechanics and later opened his first shop, Laredo Trailer Supply Inc., in 2005.

Homero will be remembered as a hard-working, kind, and witty man who could always be counted on when something needed fixing. His love for mechanics and building things was evident throughout his life. He valued hard work, family, kindness, and being able to bring joy to those around him. A true people person, Homero enjoyed making new friends and colleagues. His energy and spirit could brighten a room, especially with his smile. His sense of humor always brought laughter to others. He had a gift for solving problems, tackling challenges head-on, and helping those in need.

Homero lived his life on his own terms; no one could tell him otherwise. He did most of it by building the life he dreamed of, whether it was his kids, home, shop, or the ability to live a life full of adventures; he left his mark. Leaving his beloved antiques in the home he dreamed of. He found joy in the old things, fascinated by the art in every piece of furniture. Always searching for something beautifully old to be placed in the home he built. Even leaving a loving mark on his children’s hearts with his articulate words was always meant to make sure his children live a life of happiness, hard work, and family.

Homero is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Diana, as well as his children, Roxanne Valdez, Caroline Valdez, Eleanor Valdez, and Aaron (Sebastian) Valdez.

Though Homero’s passing might leave a tremendous void in the lives of those who loved him, his legacy will continue through the family he cherished, the friendships he built, and the values he shared. His strength, humor, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to those around him will never be forgotten. Homero will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of his family and friends.
