Javier Espinoza, beloved father, veteran, and businessman, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on December 26, 1947, Javier lived a life filled with purpose, determination, and ambition that will leave a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Enlisting in the U.S. Army in October 1968, Javier served his country with honor. After completing basic training in Folk Polk, Louisiana, in 1969, he was deployed to Vietnam, where he served from January through September of 1970. Rising to the rank of E5, he completed his tour and was honorably discharged in September 1970. Javier was a proud Vietnam Veteran, and his time in the Army was a defining chapter in his life.
Following his military service, Javier pursued higher education, earning associate degrees in Hotel Management and Banking and Finance. He applied his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit in the world of real estate, where he worked as a broker for over 40 years. His ability to connect with people and close a deal was legendary, a talent he attributed to his upbringing and the lessons he learned from his mother, Francisca Espinoza. Javier had a gift for sales and was never far from a good conversation over a cup of free coffee.
Javier married Rosa Elena Villaverde in December 1970, and together they raised a family before their eventual separation and continued friendship. He was a devoted father to his children, Javier Espinoza Jr., Luis “Chuck” Espinoza, Roxanna Espinoza Flores (Alberto Flores), and Ricardo Espinoza (Maria de la Luz Espinoza). His love for them was evident in everything he did, and though they may have lost their father, they will carry his work ambition, drive, and love of learning in their hearts forever.
Javier is survived by his children, his grandchildren Temo Ruiz, Vito A. Espinoza, Ava T. Espinoza, and Thiago A. Flores, and a legacy of hard work, perseverance, and connection with others that will not soon be forgotten.
The Espinoza family invites all who knew Javier to honor his life and memory by remembering his passion for life, his dedication to his family, and his unwavering commitment to his community. He will be deeply missed.
