Joaquina Oliva

Joaquina S. Oliva, 90, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in Laredo Texas.

Mrs. Oliva lived 90 amazing and fulfilling years led by faith, love, and laughter. Her smile, voice, and warmth will truly be missed by her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Amado Oliva; and her parents, Arturo and Rita Sosa; and grandsons, Jorge Ramirez and Gerardo Oliva.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Guadalupe (Alma) Oliva, Nora (Abelardo) Talamantes, Gloria Cruz, Nereyda (Alfredo) Vergara, Reyber Oliva, Mirtha (Luis) Perez, Amada (Guadalupe) Lizcano, Sergio Adrian Oliva, Victor Hugo (Rosa) Oliva, and Arturo Oliva. Mrs. Oliva is also survived by her loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and lifelong friends. 

A rosary will be recited on Monday, August 30, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. at the Hillside Funeral Home chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 9:45 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. John Neumann Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
