Jose O. Ramirez, 78, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 5, 2026, in Laredo, Texas surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Ramirez was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He enjoyed playing the guitar and proudly served his country in the United States Army, later reenlisting in the United States Air Force, serving a total of seven years. He also dedicated 20 years of service to Union Pacific as a Carman Inspector.
A man of deep faith, Mr. Ramirez was very close to God and lived his faith through service to others. For many years, he served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, bringing Holy Communion to the elderly, disabled, and those unable to attend Mass. He was also a devoted member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, dedicating countless hours in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. In addition, he was a member of ACTS, served as an usher, and shared his love for music as a member of the church choir.
His life was a testament to faith, service, devotion to family, and love for God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Sofia Ramirez; and his brother, Luis Ramirez.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Consuelo Treviño Ramirez; their son, Jose Luis Ramirez; sisters, Micaela Ramirez, Maria Luis Ramirez, and Estela Sofia Ramirez; niece, Vieva McClure; nephew, Erick Keller; as well as other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jose Luis Ramirez, Michael McClure, Daniel Magallanes, Dr. Daniel Gonzalez, Hector Ricardo Treviño, and Horacio Yzaguirre.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Hillside Funerals and Cremations from 5 PM to 9 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6 PM.
Visitation will follow Wednesday, June 10, 2026 beginning at 7 AM. A procession will depart the funeral home at 9:45 AM to St. John Neumann Catholic Church for a mass at 10 AM.
Interment will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 11 AM at Valley Garden Memorial Cemetery, 3601 N. Taylor Rd. Mission, Texas 78573.
