Maria Del Socorro Velazquez

Maria Del Socorro Velazquez, 66, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Velazquez is preceded in death by her parents, Hipolito Escobedo and Jacinta Escobedo; sisters, Gloria Parga, Maria Rosa Escobedo, Maria Elena Camacho, and Maria Teresa Robles; granddaughter, Dannah Jannelle Cortez; nephew, Salvador Rodríguez, Sr.; niece, Martha L. Jimenez. She is survived by her husband, Jose David Velazquez; daughters, Aide (Francisco) Cortez, Gladys (Clemente) Alonzo; granddaughters, Autumn J. Paredes, Camila Alonzo; grandsons, Francisco “PJ” Cortez, Alexi Alonzo; sisters, Irma Escobedo, and Esperanza Escobedo. Mrs. Velazquez is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
