Martha B. Gonzalez

Martha B. Gonzalez, 79, passed away on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 11:11 a.m. in her home surrounded by her family. Martha was a good daughter, sister and an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a loving person with anyone she met. Her memory and her love will be dearly missed and cherished by her entire family.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Fernando Benavides and Felipita Ramirez.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Leonardo Gonzalez and children: Martha Patricia (John) Villarreal, Diana Isela (Dimitri) Garcia, and Leonardo Gonzalez Jr. She is also survived by her siblings: Eva Rodriguez, Fernando Benavides Jr., Orfalinda Garcia, Rosalba Torrijos, Juanita Harris, and Hector Benavides; grandchildren: Celia (Thomas) Sekula, Andrea (Jim) Lieb, Lenny Gonzalez, Dimitri Garcia II, John David Villarreal, Sophia Garcia and Leo Gonzalez; great grandchildren: Enrique Thomas Sekula, Ricardo Agustin Sekula, and Baby Lieb.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, starting at 7:00 a.m. at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, 310 W Hillside Rd. Laredo, Texas 78041.

Visitation will begin at 7:00 a.m. followed by a rosary at 9:00 a.m.

Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 1704 Sandman St. with  Monsignor Alex Salazar officiating.

Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Leonardo Gonzalez Jr, Dimitri Garcia, John Villarreal, Lenny Gonzalez, Dimitri Garcia II, John David Villarreal, and Leo Gonzalez

The family wishes to thank Altus Hospice Care nurses and staff and for her two caregivers, Flor and Lorena, for the care given to their beloved mother, Martha B. Gonzalez.
