Nevolena L. Rodriguez

On May 11, 2024, God called her beloved Nevolena L. Rodriguez to his Heavenly Kingdom, where she is reunited now with her beloved and extended family that have gone before her.

 She was born in Laredo, Texas on October 24, 1928, the daughter of the late Ignacio and Maria H. Lerma. She leaves behind a great legacy that will forever be cherished in the hearts and minds of all who knew her.  Nevolena was a seamstress at Hachar's Department Store for many years.
 
 She is preceded in death by her first husband: Victor Manuel Garcia Sr.; her second husband: Amador Rodriguez Sr.; children: Felicidad Peña, Victor Manuel Garcia Jr., Maricela Palacios, her brothers and sisters: Ignacio Lerma, Jose Lerma, Emilio Lerma, Ricardo Lerma, Jesus Lerma, Aurora Treviño, Maria Lopez, Felicidad Vicharelli, and Eva Loza.
 
 Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters: Maria Guadalupe (Emilio) Barrero, Nevolena (Joe) Chavez; her beloved 10 grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funeral Home, where a Rosary will be recited at 7 pm.
 
 Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2024, departing the funeral chapel at 8:30 am to San Luis Rey Catholic Church for a Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 am. 

 Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
 
 Pallbearers will be: David Barrero, Emilio Barrero Jr., Victor Manuel Pena, Gilberto Palacios, Roberto Palacios, and Alberto Palacios.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Beatriz Garza de Caldera, her caregiver Candelaria “Cande” Ramirez Blanco, and Laredo Hospice.
