Our Heavenly Father has called our beloved Norma P. Vargas to his kingdom on April 15, 2024, in Laredo, Texas, at the age of 87. Norma loved to travel throughout the country, especially Las Vegas, where she and her husband made many trips. Together, they were a perfect team and we are confident she is now joined with him.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Jose Ramiro Vargas; parents: Ascencio and Cruz Piña; nephew: Raul Garcia Jr.; brother: Hector Piña
Left behind to cherish her memory are her siblings: Olga Piña, Diana (Ron) Miller, Luz (Raul Sr.) Garcia, Juan Manuel (Josefa) Piña; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, as well as an extended family and friends.
The family will gather on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered at 7 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, beginning at 11 am. There will be no procession. The family requests that you meet at the church at 10:45 am.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery-Pavilion Garden.
A heartfelt thanks to her doctor, Luis M. Benavides, for his long-time care of Norma, as well as her caretaker, Nora Buitron, for her attention and dedication to Norma.
