Olga H. Garza

September 6, 1931 — December 4, 2017

Our dear beloved mother, Olga H. Garza entered eternal rest on December 4th 2017. She was born on September 6th, 1931, in Laredo, to Mr. and Mrs. Antonio (Guadalupe) Hernandez. Our mother married the love of her life, Leonel, on January 15, 1956; they remained married for 60 years, and were proud parents of 6 children. She was faithfully involved with her childhood church, Holy Redeemer where she received all her sacraments and remained an active parishioner for over 40 years. She was President of the Altar Society and a member of other various Catholic organizations. She also served as a Eucharist minister for over 25 years. Her devout faith and love for Our Lord was part of her daily life in which she always followed His teachings. She instilled His teachings to her children, who were her pride and joy. She was their confidant, friend and the most loving mother. She was a patient and understanding person who resonated with humility in the truest sense. She gave as she could to anyone and bestowed that side of her to her family. Her greatest virtue would be that everything she did, she put God first and any issues, problems and concerns she gracefully handled with the upmost class. The family is grateful to her caregivers, Francisca, Carmen and Griselda, who cared and loved our mother, during her illness.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Antonio Hernandez; husband, Leonel Garza; son, Leonel Garza Jr.; brother, Emilio Hernandez; grandson, Nicholas A Garza; nephews, Daniel Benavides and Antonio Hernandez III; sister-in- law, Estela G.(Omar) Garza; brother- in- law, Armando Garza.  Mrs. Garza is survived by her children, Alfredo Antonio (Minerva) Garza, Hector Hugo Garza, Armando Gerardo (Dora) Garza, Eduardo R.
