Rafael Hinojosa Jr.

Mr. Rafael Hinojosa Jr., 93, went to meet his Creator on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Laredo, Texas. He passed away surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren.

Our father was born to Rafael and Guadalupe Hinojosa on February 26, 1928. In his early twenties, he met the love of his life, Gloria Chavez. They married in 1950 and had five children.

Our dad was a quiet God – fearing man who instilled values and the love of God in our hearts. He retired from General Motors in Chicago, Illinois and went on to be self –employed. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge in Nuevo Laredo, just like his own dad was. He faithfully attended meetings every Friday. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Hinojosa is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Hinojosa, parents, Rafael Hinojosa, and Guadalupe Hinojosa; grandsons, Israel Perez Jr., and David Hinojosa Jr.; siblings, Irma Hinojosa, Cesar Hinojosa, and Omar Hinojosa.

He is survived by his children, Ruby (Ruben) Aguirre, Gloria (Israel+) Perez, Evelyn Zuñiga, Rafael (Angelica) Hinojosa III, and David (Sally Ann) Hinojosa; sister, Sinia Hinojosa. Mr. Hinojosa is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A formal procession will depart immediately after visitation.

Interment will follow to the City of Laredo Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ruben Aguirre Jr., Juan Carlos Aguirre, David Hernandez, Jorge Zuñiga, Andres Hinojosa, and Mike Peña.
