Ramiro Rodriguez Sr., 89 years old, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 17, 2018. He was born on January 1st, 1929 in Tyler, Texas to Antonio and Beatrice Rodriguez. Ramiro was employed by Century Paper, Inc. for over 30 years and was a member of the National Guard in his youth. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Maria R. Rodriguez; son, Ramiro Rodriguez Jr; siblings, Maria de los Santos Treviño, Petra Elizalde, and Julio Rodriguez. Left to cherish his memory are his seven beloved children, Magdalena ”Mena” (Deacon Gerardo) Morales, Jorge (Alma) Rodriguez, Leticia (Mario) Martinez, Diana (Mario) Pola, Ramiro Jr. † (Malena) Rodriguez, Patsy (David) Webb, Javier (Elizabeth) Rodriguez, and Ana Laura (Pablo) Castaneda; siblings, Gregoria Treviño, Dionicio Rodriguez, Josefina Ramirez, Francisco Rodriguez, and Paulita Gallegos. Mr. Rodriguez is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. A vigil will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 9:45 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
