ROBERTO CRUZ

December 14, 1949 - December 1, 2022

Mr. Roberto Cruz, 72, entered into the presence of God, his Heavenly Father on December 1, 2022, surrounded by his loving and caring family at his side.  Roberto was born on December 14, 1949 in Laredo, Texas to Conrado Cruz Sr and Carmela Lizcano Cruz. He lived his entire life in this community. Right after high school, he joined the US Army Reserves. Roberto served his country in several duty stations in the United States and abroad. He will be forever missed. Roberto worked for the County of Webb for over 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sara Alicia Priscilla Cruz; parents: Conrado and Carmela Cruz Sr.; sister: Anita Valdez.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his children: Roberto Cruz Jr., Sara Cruz Garcia (Robert Joseph), Roberto Cruz II (Cynthia E. Alvarez), Izdel Cardenas (Leonardo); grandchildren: Miah Izdel White, Izdel LIliana Cardenas, Olivia Ariana Cardenas; siblings: Dolores Guardiola, Conrado Cruz Jr. (Beatriz), Carmen Solis, Maria Elena Dominguez (Vicente), Martha Castellano, Magdalena Tijerina, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 5 to 8 pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations, 310 W Hillside Rd., where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered at 7 pm.

Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel at 9:30 am on Saturday, December 10, 2022 to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for a Mass to be celebrated at 10 am.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at a later date.
