Rodolfo Sosa

Rodolfo Sosa, 93, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021, in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Sosa, CW4, USA Retired, the only WWII Atomic Bomb Veteran in Laredo, TX and Webb County. Rodolfo Sosa served his Country for 42 years in the US Navy, US Air Force, US Army, Active Duty, and Reserve Duty.

Mr. Sosa is preceded in death by his parents, Clemente and Francisca Sosa; daughters, Sonia S. Silva and Belinda Pacheco; siblings, Clemente Sosa, Pedro Sosa, Esteban (Guadalupe+) Sosa, and Lupita Lopez.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Araceli Sosa; children, Alvino Sosa, Yvonne Guzman, Rodolfo (Ada) Sosa, Eduardo (Guadalupe) Sosa, Antonia “Toni” (Frank) Carrera; and son-in-law, Celso Pacheco. Mr. Sosa is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A rosary will be recited on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 8:45 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. John Neumann Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Guzman, Benjamin Guzman, Manuel Guzman, Erika Carrisalez, Nayeli Sosa, and Eduardo R. Sosa.

Interment will follow to the City of Laredo Cemetery.

Military honors will be provided by the Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 59 Honor Guard.
