Rosa Alicia P. Garcia

Rosa Alicia P. Garcia, 71, entered into eternal rest on February 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 13, 1955, Rosa lived a life defined by faith, devotion to her family, and a passionate commitment to education.

Rosa was a proud graduate of Ursuline Academy and went on to earn her degree from Laredo State University. She dedicated 31 years of her life to teaching, shaping the minds and hearts of countless students. Her classroom was a place of encouragement, discipline, and compassion, and she leaves behind a legacy of inspiration that will continue through the many lives she touched. Teaching was not just her profession—it was her calling. Beyond the classroom, she also enjoyed her work at Jungle Jacks Plumeria, where she found joy in sharing beauty and community with others in Zapata, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rodolfo Peralta and Enriqueta Cantu; and her brother, Rodolfo Peralta (Esther).

Rosa leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 48 years, Manuel Garcia Jr.; her two sons, Cid Garcia (Allyena) and Vito Garcia (Grace); her treasured grandchildren, Vito Garcia Jr. and Ava Grace Garcia; her sisters, Diana Carranco (Carlos) and Ana Maria Ruiz (Joel); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

Rosa will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering dedication, and the deep love she had for her family and community. Though she will be profoundly missed, her legacy of kindness, service, and love will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Hillside Funerals and Cremations from 5 pm - 9 pm. Liturgy of the Word and Rosary will be celebrated at 7 pm. Services will conclude after the visitation.

A private cremation will be held at a later date.
