Ruperto Contreras

May 17, 1935 — January 12, 2019

Ruperto Contreras, 83, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Contreras enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, golfing, watching the Spurs, the Cowboys, and the Astros. His family will remember him talking about his younger days growing up in the Azteca neighborhood. Mr. Contreras proudly served his country in the United States Army. “I didn’t leave you alone, Dad. I stayed close to your bedside. I held your hand and talked to you. You were waiting to join your bride. We talked about our Savior, about Heaven, and Pearly Gates. Trying to imagine all the glory that awaits. I can’t begin to imagine a life without you dad. Tears mixed with emotions. How long will I be sad? You always wore God’s Armor. You gave us all your best. A mighty warrior for our Lord. Be at peace dad; it’s time to rest.” He is preceded in death by his wife Evangelina Contreras; parents, Rafael and Maria de Jesus Contreras; son, Ruperto Contreras Jr. Mr. Contreras is survived by his children Cynthia C.
