Santiago Joel Ponce

With heavy hearts and deep love, the family of Santiago Joel Ponce announces his passing on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the tender age of six months. Though his time on earth was brief, Santiago’s life was filled with love, warmth, and precious moments that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Santiago was the beloved son of Jonathan H. Ponce and Natalia J. Mendoza, who cherished every smile, laugh, and gentle moment they shared with their baby boy. In his short time, Santiago brought immeasurable joy and meaning to his family, reminding them daily of the beauty of unconditional love.

He leaves behind many who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts, including his loving paternal grandparents, Robert and Ana Ponce; his maternal grandparents, Victor Hugo (Samuel and Amparo Mendoza +) and  Laura Esmeralda Mendoza (Gustavo and Juana Laura Berlanga +); his paternal great-grandmother, Cherry Lee Ponce; and his paternal great-grandmother, Maria (Roberto +) Berman Garcia. Santiago is also lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, extended family members, and all who were blessed to know him.

Though his tiny hands are no longer here to hold, the love he brought into this world will remain forever. Santiago’s gentle presence and the joy he gave his family will never be forgotten.

The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hillside Funerals and Cremations. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Services will conclude after the visitation. 

A private cremation will be held at a later date.

Santiago Joel Ponce will always be remembered as a beautiful soul whose light, though brief, will shine forever in the hearts of his family. 💙
