Soledad S. Nuñez

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Mrs. Soledad S. Nuñez on October 31, 2021, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched.

She was born on June 26, 1937, to Aurelio and Sara Silva and a lifelong resident of Laredo.

She was a remarkable and very strong mother. She loved and treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially enjoyed the holidays, birthdays, and family reunions. Always wanting everyone around. We are left with such wonderful memories of her and she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Nuñez was preceded in death by her parents, Aurelio Silva and Sara Aquino; husband, Jose Juan Nuñez, Sr., and son, Ruben Nuñez.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jose Juan (Teresa) Nuñez, Jr., Gilberto Martin (San Juanita) Nuñez, Elizabeth (Vidal Jr.) Velásquez, Sylvia Diana (Raymond Sr.) López, Roberto (Sandra) Nuñez, and Sharon Nuñez. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Rosa Isela Nuñez, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A rosary will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Gilberto Martin Nuñez, Raymond Lopez, Sr., Raymond Lopez, Jr., Vidal Velasquez, Jr., Vidal Velasquez, III, and Christopher Velasquez. Honorary pallbearers will be Jose Juan Nuñez, Jr., and Roberto Nuñez.

Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
