Sylvia P. Rosas

January 1, 1935 — March 3, 2023

Laredo, Texas

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend has left this earth to join those that have gone before her in God’s Heavenly Kingdom. Sylvia was born in Durango, Durango, Mexico on January 1, 1935 to Asencion and Juana Palacios.

She is now joining her parents Asencion and Juana Palacios; her beloved husband Andres B. Rosas; son, Andres B. Rosas Jr.; siblings: Rosa Maria Palacios, Leonor Palacios, and Elodia Palacios.

Sylvia was a strong, independent, driven and inspirational woman on all aspects of life. At a young age she left her home town Durango, Mexico to pursue her ambition of exceling and finding better opportunities to help her family.

At the age of 20 she married the love of her life, Andres "Andy" Rosas and was blessed with six sons. Sylvia was the driving force behind her successful husband and inspired him to take risks in the businesses that proved to be very effective. As a loving mother, she fostered independence and instilled perseverance as evidenced by the achievements of her sons.

Sylvia loved traveling, having family gatherings, and socials with friends. She will always be remembered for being the life of the party and hosting her annual new year's/birthday celebrations.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved children: Hector (Olga) Rosas, Rodolfo “Rudy” (Alicia) Rosas, Roberto Rosas, Raul (Francelia) Rosas, Richard Rosas and daughter-in-law, Jonna Rosas. God granted her the blessings of 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren that adore her and will miss her dearly. Further surviving her are her loving and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

We extend our most sincere gratitude to Dr. Armando Hinojosa, Dr. Rolando Rodriguez, La Esperanza Hospice, and her personal caretakers: Anabel, Lupita, Sonia, Mode, Evelyn, Magdalena, Mandy, Delany, and Raul Vargas.

The family will gather the morning of March 8, 2023, from 8 am to 12 noon at Hillside Funerals and Cremations, 310 W. Hillside Rd.
